Tour de Louisville Race Report
by Mitch Graham and Kevin Richards
Published: 09/29/2008

September 28, 2008; Louisville, KY, USA: The Tour de Louisville Cyclocross race was held on Sunday, September 28, 2008. There was another great turnout for the second round of the 2008 Zipp OVCX Tour, with a 40% increase over last year's entry.

Today's Elite 1/2 race was won by Mike Purvis of Barbasol. Barbosol was racing B's last year, and he smoked a very competitive field today, a perfect example of what can happen with hard work and motivation. Nathan Rice from Big Shark in St. Louis was 2nd 30 seconds ahead of the four rider chase of Clayton Omer (Calistoga Racing Team), John Eisinger (Team Legacy Energy), Mitchell Kersting (Barbasol) and Andrew Messer (DRT Racing).

In the Elite Masters race, Troy Tucker came up from Tennessee, where he is one of the top racers, and battled with Mike McShane (Calistoga) for the Masters 1/2 win. Home rider McShane won the sprint for the win. Amanda McKay (Bio-Wheels) won the Elite Women's race by a sizeable margin over a disappointingly small field.

The complete results are HERE.
