David Kemp Puts it on the Line at TDU

Published: 01/20/2010

Adelaide, Australia – In another bold display of gutsy attacking riding, Fly V australia’s David Kemp spent more than 120 kilometers off the front in today’s stage 2 of the Santos Tour Down Under (TDU). Kemp’s attacking move placed him in the lead for all but 6 kilometers of the day’s 130 km stage. The catch was made with 6 kilometers to go as the sprinters Team’s wound up the pace as the bunch sped
into Hahndorf.

Kemp said, “I was feeling good today and wanted to give it go in the break. The conditions today were similar to the weather experienced in Balllarat of the weekend of the Nationals. Today felt similar but 3
in the lead and not 8, that’s a big ask!”

“Kemp’s ride today in Stage 2 earnt him the most aggressive riders jersey for the day. The jersey is a great honour far David and just deserts based on how he has been approaching the racing.” Said team
owner, Chris White

Although the TDU is a UCI PRO Tour event, Fly V Australia has two riders competing for the composite Australian National Team (UNI SA). Both David and Jonathan Cantwell are seizing the opportunity to
animate the race where possible. Jonathan has had some misfortune in past stage 1 & 2, first breaking his bike and finishing on a borrowed one on day 1 and then in stage 2 he had to deal with a puncture at
an inopportune time.
